Pesto Beef Sliders

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chuck roast

  • 1/2 cup Beituti Zesty Shawarma Marinade

  • 1/2 cup water or broth

  • 12 slider buns

  • 1/3 cup Besto nut-free pesto

  • Olive oil, for drizzling

  • 1 tbsp za’atar seasoning

Directions:

  • Place the chuck roast in a Dutch oven. Pour the entire bottle of Beituti Zesty Shawarma Marinade over the beef, ensuring it is fully coated.

  • Cover with the lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.

  • Remove the Dutch oven from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.

  • Place the Dutch oven on the stovetop over medium-high heat. Sear the beef on all sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  • Reduce the heat to low, cover the Dutch oven with its lid, and cook the beef for 5-6 hours, turning occasionally, until it is tender and falls apart easily with a fork.

  • Remove the beef from the Dutch oven and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded beef to the pot and stir it into the cooking juices to keep it moist and flavorful.

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Slice the slider buns in half. Place the bottom halves on a baking sheet. Pile the shredded shawarma beef onto the bottom halves of the buns.

  • Spread a generous layer of Besto nut-free pesto on the inside of the top halves of the buns. Place the tops on the sliders.

  • Drizzle olive oil over the tops of the buns and sprinkle them with za’atar.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 7 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and slightly crisp.

  • Remove from the oven and serve the sliders warm.
